Ships have the potential for some of the worst noise and vibration problems and have been an area of interest to SRL for many years. Engines and equipment are all connected to the hull and structure which can transmit noise to all parts of the vessel making areas difficult to work on or live in. Cruise liners and super yachts are even more critical as the owners and passengers have even higher expectations of luxury. This is exacerbated by discos, ballrooms and other activities which must not impinge on cabins where there is a 'hotel' expectation.
