- ENGINEERING TEST MANAGER New
We have a vacancy for a manager of our test laboratories and external test team. This is due to the expansion of these services and changes in the Building Regulations which require more testing. This gives us and you the opportunity to grow both the laboratories and all testing services.
We are looking for someone with proven ability in man and project management. The test team works for a range of clients around the UK. Coordination of the testers and control of their projects is necessary to optimise output and keep clients happy. The testers are based at our HQ, in London and Manchester.
You will also be responsible for the test laboratories at our HQ. Again the main requirement is to manage the test staff and work throughput. There will also be the coordination of external builders and installers of test samples. We are about to build a further laboratory which will increase our capacity by more than 50%.
We expect a good engineering understanding. Ideally this will be demonstrated by some technical qualification. A knowledge of noise and vibration would be nice, but not essential. We will train you to the necessary level, so an ability to learn is essential.
The job involves dealing with a range of external clients. Good interpersonal skills are a must. Although the job will be mainly based at HQ, some travel to visit clients and our other offices will be necessary. So you must have a clean license and own transport.
The company is accredited by UKAS for its QA system. The maintenance of this standard and the quality of the work done will be an important aspect. The ability to write clearly in plain English is essential.
Your performance will be based on financial targets. Our salary structure includes a significant proportion based on exceeding target – something that we generally do. Salary will be in excess of £30k plus an additional salary based on performance.
